Crafting with herbs, oils, crystals, intention and LOVE!

The equinox is the precise moment the sun's rays shine directly on the equator. It is a moment of balance, a balance between the seasons of winter hibernation and summer manifestation. What better time to shed the dry winter skin and allow the new cells to breathe and take in the energy of growth and revitalization that spring offers.
Sea salt or pink Himalayan salt (tends to be more expensive) are great options for the scrub. You want to use fine salt, don't want to rub yourself raw! Carrier oils are generally pressed and extracted from nuts, fruits and seeds and help "carry" the essential oils into the layers of the skin and bloodstream. I love olive oil. It is easy to find an organic variety for a decent price at your local supermarket and contains the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K. It also acts as an antioxidant which can help prevent premature aging.
Here's my recipe but the fun part is really making it your own so I whole heartedly encourage you to experiment and find the BALANCE for you...because that's what it is all about right?
Always start with a clean and sterile workspace and sanitized containers (glass preferred, just run it through the hot cycle in the dishwasher)!
1 cup of fine sea salt or pink Himalayan salt
1/2 cup of oil (your choice, I recommend olive oil)
1 Tbsp dried organic rose petals finely ground
1 Tbsp raw organic honey (local preferred)
8 drops of Frankincense Essential Oil
10 drops of Red Mandarin Essential Oil
10 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
I use Frankincense for its anti-aging properties and red mandarin and lemon for their mood lifting energies. Red mandarin and lemon essential oils have the energy of sunshine and the spring equinox is the shift when more sunshine and warmth start to infuse our days. Feel free to experiment with different citrus oils or add some finely ground lavender or lavender essential oil for a calming, peaceful vibe.
Mix ingredients together in a glass bowl and with a wooden spoon and place in a sterilized glass jar. Massage gently into the skin, especially over elbows, knees and heels to let that natural glow out. Shower after to rinse off with warm water and enjoy!
I recommend Stillpoint Aromatics and Florihana essential oils. I recommend Mountain Rose Herbs and Starwest Botanicals for dried herbs.
Now get crafting with love and light!
